How This Works

This estimator uses industry-standard hour ranges compiled from agency benchmarks, freelancer surveys, and real project data. The low end assumes streamlined scope with experienced practitioners; the high end accounts for complexity, client feedback loops, and less-templated work.

Multiply the hours by your hourly rate to get a project fee range. Add a 10–20% buffer for scope creep and unexpected revisions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is there such a wide range for each deliverable?

Complexity varies enormously. A 5-page marketing site and a 50-page e-commerce build are both “websites,” but the hours differ by 5x. The range gives you a realistic floor and ceiling.

Should I quote the low end or the high end?

Most freelancers should quote somewhere in the middle-to-upper range. Quoting at the low end leaves no margin for revisions and assumes everything goes perfectly, which rarely happens.

Can I use these numbers in a client proposal?

Yes. These are realistic scoping ranges used by professional freelancers and agencies. Adjust based on your speed, experience level, and the specific project requirements.
